Avoid failing to try in fear of failure.

This month, I put together a service offering from Unhidden Potential, a Group Coaching program exclusively for Women. Want to know how many registrations I got? Read on to find out and see how the program is evolving.

It's one of those things that I hold close to my heart as something I know I love creating the space for and enabling fulfilling growth for other women - whatever that looks like for each person. A thoughtfully curated structure providing guidance in a safe space with a sense of community and shared accountability.

"Empowered women empower other women" - Unknown

This quote truly came to life when my former colleagues and friends shared the program and gave me valuable feedback. Shout-out to Kelly StakerMelissa HenaoEllen HudreauxNirmani AmerasingheMonica Keith and Leema Rodrigues who I am so grateful to for the support. These are all women I have worked with, respect and admire for their drive. There are more who have also shared and sent me best wishes privately - THANK YOU! 💜

As with trying anything, we learn by doing. We can think and plan all we want but the actual learning and progress happens when we do stuff. So here's my experience in doing:

What did I learn?

  • 👯 Confirmation of the need and benefit of such programs. I received positive feedback about the program structure and in particular the topics chosen to tackle each month.

  • 💡 Ideas to pivot the program into a more flexible on-demand offer that will surely continue to evolve in the future. I'm always open to new ideas and feedback - reach out to share anytime.

  • 🎥 Courage to share my first ever video on LinkedIn. No makeup, just raw me after doing 25 sets each of jump squats, sit-ups, pushups and burpees. A one take video that didn't take me long to record and share. What it has done is given me the confidence to do more videos.

  • 📢 Tried google ads first time. Gained some interest and insights into what people are searching online for. Shared my video on my personal social media account - something I have kept separate from professional but it's time to share more of what I do broadly.

What did I lose?

💭 What I did lose is any form of regret thinking "what-if", "should I have", "maybe I could have" etc. This is what can really bother me and it's in my control to choose which of my future anticipated regrets I take action on NOW. It need not be perfect but I will give it a red hot go and learn from the whole experience. I am way more at peace knowing I tried and have gained learnings to iterate something I wholeheartedly believe in.

"You don't fail when you try. It's more gains than loss!"

Experience and pivot:

I realise how this Group Coaching can feel like a big commitment of time and effort to enroll in such a program. For those who don't know me (yet), it can also feel uncomfortable to be part of groups with other women they don't know - the whole unexpected can feel scary.

To answer the question of how many registrations I have had - the answer is zero. It doesn't feel like a loss though as how can you lose something you didn't have in the first place!

I have taken the opportunity to pivot the program to an on-demand offer that's shorter and with flexibility to adapt to specific needs. This would also be more suited for organisations to nominate groups who can go through the program in office hours and with their colleagues. The very ethos of Unhidden Potential is the belief that everyone has the potential to grow and pursue what truly matters to them. It takes courage to take steps toward your WHAT-IFS and to embrace the journey not waiting for the shiny end goal (is there even one?!). This article is a way of me sharing my imperfect journey and the learning that happens when you take action stepping outside your comfort zone.
